We have been running Little Owls at the beautiful National Trust Ebworth Estate since 2014 - and it's still going strong.
The group is made up of parents, carers and childminders and their children who enjoy meeting, exploring and playing in our wonderful woodland setting.
We use a dedicated Forest School site which has been set up to provide a whole range of experiences - from digging in the woodchip and cooking up a storm in the mud kitchen to making dens and climbing trees - it is the perfect set up to get closer to nature, have little adventures and make friends.
We meet in any weather (except extremes like strong winds and snow) and (almost) throughout the year to experience the outdoors in all its facets. If it rains, we have a spacious tarp to shelter under when needed.
Each sessions has a mixture of one or two guided activities and lots of free play for which we have a range of resources on hand. We do mud play, walks, stories, wild art, bug hunting and generally having a lovely, relaxing time surrounded by nature - good for body and soul, for children and grown ups alike.
During the course of the term we usually have at least one campfire and go on one walk through the neighbouring National Trust woodland to experience the changing seasons.
Little Owls is suitable for children aged 18 months to 6 years and their families (younger siblings welcome).
